You said you emailed play.com, can you give me the email address as there is no facility on their website for this.
regards.
info@play.com I've used it in the past and received a reply, but not the case this time0 -
Play are a very good company, and it sounds like you have got a raw deal. Mind you, half the things you are whinging about are not really worth whinging about.
I am sure they will sort it out.
I'm sorry i have to disagree with you there i would never buy from them again if my life depended on it, after waiting in 3 days last december which i had to take off work for them to pick up a parcel, millions of phone calls for a refund and customer services not passing on messages or recording conversations i'd had with them.0 -
I have just returned a faulty Item using their returns system which was explained to me by lady with a very broad Belfast accent, I hope I understood her instructions ( I was Struggling). I am now waiting to see how Play perform"Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

In Janunary I ordered some items for my son. We put them aside for his birthday which was last week. After wrapping them and giving them to him I realised one of them was missing (the downside of buying things in the sale and saving them is you forget what you have hidden away). I hunted high and low because I was sure I must of lost it. Reading this thread prompted me to check my order history. It was still showing as 'awaiting stock' since January!! No contact whatsoever so I just called them to be told they are discontinued and had to cancel the order.
Because they were on offer they have actually refunded me the price difference to be able to replace with a different one at full price, unfortunately though he has all the ones they have available now. At least they tried to resolve the issue though.0 -
I have found them to be excellent! I order loads of stuff every year from them. In December I ordered a memory card in the sale when it came it did not work, I rang them up and someone answered straight away. He emailed me the refund code thing and I posted it back with the email he sent me. When the replacement arrived it did not work either so I asked for a refund which they did immediately after receiving the faulty card back and they refunded me my postage for the two occasions I returned the faulty card!!
I thought this was great service - not many companies refund you the postage if you return a faulty item. Our dream has come true...0 -

But that is the carriers fault and not play.com.
At work we use a well know carrier and I have phoned to make pick ups no problem, then a week later the customer rings up to say they have not picked up. I can't control the carriers. When I give them a job to do I expect it to be done.
It is the same when people moan about delivery from any well know retailer. The weakest point in the chain is the carriers. If it left in a bin and then the bin men come and empty it is hardly the suppliers problem but the carriers.
Also considering the amount of transactions play.com there always a chance that one or two transaction will go wrong.
I think you will find more people saying that they have had no problems with play when you will who have had a problem.
Oh and by the way I have had no problems with well one that was my fault as I was trying to use an out of date credit card :rotfl:

Uh! They all have to, it's not them doing you a favour. If the item is faulty they have to pay the postage costs both ways.
Why do they have to? There isn't any law specifically demanding them to. We're talking about play.com not a company that's in the UK."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

This is for security and is a good idea. If your card is stolen, it prevents someone being able to use your card online and sent items to another address.quote]
Odd because play allowed 4 identical orders of £37 made within minutes of each other to be posted to another address by someone who had stolen my card details which they had on record as being mine.0 -
But that is the carriers fault and not play.com.
Nope that was Play.coms fault, on the 3rd day when the carrier arrived to pick up the parcel they showed me the request form from play which showed they had booked it for that day and not the previous 2 days i'd sat at home waiting. When i rung play they admitted they were wrong but basically tough, there was nothing they could do about it now.
What about the 3 days i'd lost sat in waiting???0
