A&L Direct ISA (transferring money in)

I've just opened a A&L Direct ISA and received the acceptance email. They included my ISA number and their bank details needed to transfer money from my linked current account when it's all up and running. It will probably take a while for the linked current account to be active and as we're getting close to the end of the tax year I was wondering if I can send them a 3k transfer now using the details supplied without waiting for the direct debit mandate and linked current account to become active?

Just to clarify, you're talking about putting new money into an ISA? Transfers of existing ISAs can be done anytime and have no effect on your annual allowance.

If it's about new cash going in - within 7 days of account opening, you can use any A&L branch:

Thanks for that, must have missed that bit on their site. Yes it's new money in a new account. I started to worry as I read that the first bacs can take 8 working days - so may not have made this years deadline in time by going through my bank. Will trot off to the local A&L branch instead.
