Broadband - where next?

My broadband contract runs out in a few weeks and I am wondering where to go next. I am currently with BT Yahoo broadband on a 2mb line with a 15gb limit and am very happy with it. However I'm fairly sure I can reduce my monthly payments from £30 a month. Ideally I'd like to be able to migrate easily without the hassle of having to cancel and then start a new contract.
Has anyone any advice or recommendations? I'd like to keep at least a 1mb speed and also a minimum of 10gb download limit. (I donwload a fair bit of music).

You can get e7 broadband for £13 per month for a 2M uncapped connection - but you have to pay up front. There is also a £50 connection fee if you sign up for 12 months, this is waived if you sign up for 2 years. The migrations seem to go very smoothly.
I've been with them for a year and they have been great.
Check the e7 referrers board for more info and ways of saving more money.
Cheers

There is a lot changing in the broadband scene at the moment. We are just seeing the start of faster access offered to people in the UK. Two companies are starting to offer 24Mb broadband. NTL and Telewest are going to soon offer 10Mb broadband. Over the next few months, you are going to see a lot more of these faster lines being offered. For downloading, a faster line is ideal.
It is worth keeping this in mind when you pick your new ISP. If you get tied into a one or two year deal, you could end up not being able to access the new deals untill your contract is over. There are many ISPs that offer one month minimum terms. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Why not try Metronet, they are 1 month contract and low prices and pay as you go.The more you use over the max free usage the more you pay up to a limit. The limit is a money one not usage. http://www.metronet.co.uk/adsl/paygo
Been with them for a year and am very happy. Largest bill about £18.00 even with 3 computers on and a teenage daughter.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0 -
Hi
I am the same have been with bt yahoo 2mb ( but can only get imb due to phone line ). So wanted to change as Ithought the £29.99 per month was too dear. Was looking at metronet of freedom2surf. Decided to go with freedom2surf at £19.99.
I phoned up bt and explain wanted my MAC number to change over. They instantly offered me the package i am on for £22.50 per month starting imeediately. No ties and they said in three months time there will probably be a better deal. So hey none of the hassle of changing,so it suits me and I will see what im offfered in 3 months. So try it and see if you are happy with the service you are getting.0 -
