had an offer for our house so we put in an offer for the one we were after , now been told the ones that have the offers for our house are having problems with their mortgage company, i have already received the bill for the sale of the property so i thought everything was ok , i also thought that you had to have your mortgage in place before putting a written offer in for a mortgage.anyone offer an advise :eek::eek::eek:

I didn't understand your posting at all.
But making up an understanding about one part: a mortgage can only actually be in place a couple of weeks after the survey's done, that is when the mortgage company have approved the person AND the property.
If you are on about a mortgage in principle, then the mortgages being offered by companies are being pulled off the shelves as we speak... every day there are less and less types of mortgages being offered. So people are getting a mortgage in principle one day, but the next day that might not be available any more.0 -
sorry bit muddled, have had an offer for the house i am selling which i accepted and recieved the bill for the sale from the estate agent. went to my solicitor to sign for the property i was buying and was told that the sale on my property was not yet completed and that the couple were having issues with their mortgage company. i thought you had to have your morgage offer in place before putting an offer in on a property , my solicitor never let me put in the offer for the house i was after until i had my mortage arranged and a concrete offer for the house i was selling in place0

Hmmm. Not sure I understand either???? If you have signed the deeds over, then surely you have received the funds? Otherwise you have just given your property away! Which your solicitor would not have done, in case you are worried!
Things are a bit different in Scotland but essentially the legal sale process is the same. I very much doubt you have signed over the deeds if they are having problems with their mortgage.
I think you need to discuss fully with your solicitor as something here does not add up.0 -
Yeah I was recently adamantly told by an ea that we had to produce a bank statement of the deposit we had and a letter from the mortgage company that we had a firm mip or they wouldnt even pass our offer on
I offered anyway and they passed it on!
