We had a new back boiler and radiator installed about 2 years ago.The blokey and his boy got here at about 8am and stayed till about 6pm for about 5 days.We just got on with our home schooling around them and offered them tea when we had some.We ignored the fact they had not even brought sandwiches with them as that was up to them.I wouldnt expect to be fed or get drinks if I went to work in someones house.
Our plumbers used my hoover to clean up their mess each day and walked off with one of my energy saving bulbs which they were made to pay for.
They are running a business and can claim expenses back from the taxman,I cant.
Sorry if I sound like Scrooge:p

If you have a fixed estimate for the work then go ahead and feed them. I always give workmen rolls (butteries up here in Scotland ) in the morning and scones pancakes and bake a sponge or shortbread for their afternoon tea. They are always there when I need a plumber or an electrician at short notice so it works in my favour too.

The water was never off for much more than a couple of hours at a time when they did my boiler and radiators. By all means be prepared for no water but I don't think it'll be as bad as you imagine. :)

Possibly not but then I had a new bathroom put in last september and I had no bathroom door and no access to a loo with the work man there from 9am until about 4ish everyday for a week.

So I got to know my local major Chain DIY stores loos very well.

Just wanted to be prepared as I know holding on for too long is not good for your bladder or bowels.

    Good grief!

So this time you might have to take the bucket into the attic for a bit a privacy then?

    Yeah, should be :)

In the meantime you've reminded me that I haven't been up in my attic for ages. Time to do some treasure hunting...
