But live help were great and sorted everything out.
 Hope you get it sorted

hi there i use ebay quite a lot too!! and think my passwords are not easy to guess, firstly how do you know when you have been hijacked is it because you get an email or something also what is live help and how do you get in touch, do they talk or email you.
Just want to prepare myself in case something did happen, kindest regards0

I have had 20 things listed on Ebay over the last 2 weeks and was waiting for the last of them to end, before I listed more, I came home from work on Wednesday (should be renamed hackers day) to find 9 listing notifications in my inbox, all selling GDH ? hair straightners with a starting price of £19.99. I tried to log in (not through a link) and the page just reloaded so I signed in with my buyers account, checked my sellers account and saw all the items listed, 4 had bids already.
I then got an e-mail from the fraud dept of Ebay saying they believed my account had been hacked into and could I log on with a forgotton password and reset it straight away, meanwhile, I refreshed the other page and all the "illegal" listed items had vanished.
My account is now up and running again and I only have praise for Ebay, they spotted it straight away and sorted it all out before I really had a chance to work out what had happened. I have no idea how they were alerted, maybe they have suspect IP's flagged.
Good luck to those who still have problems."Dogs come when they are called. Cats take a message and get back to you" :j :j0

With mine, 20 handbags were listed but 19 got pulled by ebay for trademark violations.
I had email off Ebay stating that they had been removed, and obviously knew I hadn't listed them so therefore account had been hacked. So I logged on and went to the help pages and clicked on live help (it's like msn messenger) and the help people ask you security q's, what the problem is etc and he removed the one remaining item and sorted everything out in under 10mins. Was very impressed at how quickly they sorted it.

How long does it usually take to reset the password? I've done all they have asked, entered username and clicked on forgotten password, answered security questions and then I'm told to expect an email but I don't receive the email. I have now tried this three times.Tesco: £1361.19, Vanquis: £2644.73, Very: £563.08, Next: £1636.95, M&S: £1049.92. As of 5th February 2024. Slava Ukraini0

Get back to Live Mail straight away - this happened to me. The hackers have also hacked your e-mail address so you don't receive the e-mails - the hacker does!
Live Help can phone you and give you a temporary password. Then you need to go in, change your e-bay details. If you have another e-mail address you can use, change your registered e-mail address. Also change the passwords to all your e-mail addresses especially if you tend to use the same or similar passwords.I'm a retired employment solicitor. I went back onto live help last night and was told to contact customer services (who I have already contacted 3 times) I have just contacted them again to give tham an alternate email account address. Hopefully they can send a temporary password to that account and then when I can access ebay properly I will add this new email account as my ebay email.
