Just had to share my good news with fellow theatre fans. I had a pm re a previous post sugguesting someone might get cheap £9.50 tickets by going on the ticketmaster.co.uk site for Mon-Fri tickets and use the ticketmaster partner code tmdeal (read it on the forum somewhere, sorry can't find post now to mention the kind person who posted code). Iwent on ticketmaster to see how you use it (2nd drop down box, next to no of tickets has to be changed to £9.50) and found sound of music (half price) tickets for the bank holiday Friday show for £12.50 each and booked them. The offer was only on until noon Monday-so would have missed that, if not thanks to this thread. I can feel a burst of "doe a deer coming on".

Has anyone had confirmation of tickets for tonight? My friend has just rang to say she's had nothing through. She was wondering whether to cancel her babysitter and I've suggested she does if she doesn't get anything within the hour.

Good for you. You found it because you were helping someone else so deserve to get a good deal yourself. :A

Oh dear, judging by the fact their are no recent comments about getting free tickets and the website for free tickets seems to be open for too long now-I think it may be just a lottery as to who gets tickets now. When I and friends went last week, the website closed within a couple of hours max, when I expect all the complimentary tickets available were allocated. I then suspect unless there was a big last minute rush for tickets you were more or less guaranteed tickets and got the email confirming 4pm the day before (in the case of Saturday) on on the day for others. I hope your friend is one of the lucky ones and that I am wrong about the way tickets are being allocated now.

Thanks. It's a bit late for her now though. Not to worry, I will keep looking to see if anything comes up for next weekend (she can't really do weekdays).

There have been a load of tickets sold on ebay for tonight though. It leads me to believe that either all the tickets have gone to the one place or, as I mentioned in an earlier post, the Afrika team are maximising profits by selling the last of the tickets there (the listings from a seller who uses the Afrika name in their username indicates that they will be forwarding similar worded emails to the ones we received for nothing). The other thing that has occurred to me is that, given what has been said about the allocation of free tickets previously, some people have made the assumption that, because they completed the form, they are guaranteed an email and have listed tickets they do not yet have. I sincerely hope this is not the case as there could be many people disappointed.

Thanks that code worked. I have booked tickets for tomorrow afternoon the seats are not the best seats in the house by any stretch but i hope that they will be ok. I opted for the £14.50 block E seats. They were charging £19.50 for block B which was basically the same thing so i didn't feel that it was worth paying out for.

Btw, i sent someone an email who was selling these tickets on Ebay and they sent this mail back-

Just a quick warning about tonight - my supplier just informed me that apparently the organisers may have stopped doing complimentary tickets. I'd rather let you know now than be disappointed later and be up front about it. I know there are some others selling loads of tickets for tongiht on ebay but quite a few I believe are scams. I listed this a few days ago, and this is a new change that may have occured recently.

I will keep trying, if you don't mind giving it a try we can, but bear in mind they may turn you guys away, but I won't take any money now - only if everything goes well. Let me know and I'll speak to my supplier.

Thanks for the warning re: ebay tickets. I am sure that you will really enjoy the show tomorrow. When we went last Saturday night, there were lots of unoccupied seats (a whole row in front of us and ours were priced at £55). Just after the performance began I noticed that people in the less expensive seats, just moved to the better seats (the row in front filled up as people drifted over) . There seemed to be no-one quering it. The staff took down the cards with the section lettering on it before the show started, so if anyone came in late they would not find seats eaisly anyway, so just sat where ever.
