That's exactly what I'm doing. My ring will fit better on my right hand as it's slightly too large anyway. Our rings should be here in a fortnight fingers crossed.Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

I've been married almost 2 years and the rhodium plating wears/gets tarnished over time with daily wear and ESPECIALLY chlorine from swimming pools etc. (Never wear your rings for swimming, it stripped the rhodium in mine so quickly). We have just had our rings cleaned, polished and re-rhodium plated for the second time, this time using the British Jewellery Company in Coventry. They are a jewellers, but do an online rhodium plating service for £10 per ring and free return by special delivery. They phoned me up to confirm receipt of the rings and the work we wanted done and had the rings back to us within 2 days! The work was excellent quality.Highly recommended. Most jewellers now seem to charge about £30 per ring so this is excellent value. Shiny sparkly diamond rings, as perfect as on our wedding day!

Mine is sterling silver, and only about 4 months old, but already a bit battered! I wear it all the time, and silver isn't exactly known for being hardwearing. Have intentions of my wedding ring being platinum (although OH doesn't know that yet!) and I am thinking I will abandon the engagement ring once we are married. A plain, flat band will be far more appropriate for me with my messy and hands-on life!OD £lots Egg Card £329.04 Parents £650 Sofa £741.780

My other half decided to do it backwards and bought me an eternity ring first 5 years ago. Then the engagement ring this february! Both are 18c white gold with diamonds. I love the colour that the white gold goes and am lucky that the solitaire engament ring will take longer as the top of it doesn't get rubbed as much. I plan on wearing both of those rings on my right hand for the wedding and then returning them after. It won't take long for the wedding band to go the same colour.0

hey thanks ladies! Well i have found a wedding band to go with my engagement ring after trawling places! It is from the same jewellers and he will clean/re coat my engagement ring free as we are getting the ring there..
I want to keep my engagement ring on so whoever said they are thinking of getting a different ring and wearing the engagement ring on another finger has thrown me now!! never thought of that as would love a ring like df's so they both kinda match but his is rather manly lol...oh decisions hey! not long to go so better hurry up and decide!
has anyone on here tried that cleaning tip posted above?0 -
My ring is looking very yellow next to my brand new white gold wedding ring and I want to get it replated before our wedding in May.
To anyone who used h samuel, do they do it on the premises or do you have to send it off?
I really dont want to be parted with it! If not does anyone know anywhere that does it while you wait? I'm based in Manchester but am happy to travel to anywhere in north westMummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
I just tried the tip that is on the 1st page of this thread, altho I had to use baking powder, and it does seem to have worked.
Diamond has come out REALLY sparkly and while to white gold isn't as shiny as my wedding ring it is definitely the same colour now.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
