Hey - desperately need some advice!!

Brought a sony laptop on 11/3/8 for £650 - my husband has just seen on the internet that currys (where i brought it from) and pc world have reduced it by £150. I'm furious . I sure this has happened to others. We are going to go to currys tomorrow to discuss the reduction - please can anyone give me any advice to get the £150 back.

    XXX

Why exactly has this been moved to the vent board?

The OP bought an item in an agreed contract, currys reduced their prices shortly after

    Weres the issue?

Should shops never be allowed to reduce prices

Its idiots like the OP that inflate costs by wasting peoples time dealing with a silly complaint which has no basis

I must admit I'm fed up of reading whinges like this on various forums.

Farahmanir, you obviously decided that the laptop was a good buy at £650.
So, it was reduced soon after?
    Well, that's tough.

I bet if it had gone up by £150, you'd not have hot-footed it back to give them the extra so why do you think price changes should only work one way (i.e. in YOUR favour)?

Next time, why not just sit on the fence checking prices ad infinitum to make sure you're not 'ripped off' again?
You might just be ready to buy a Sinclair Spectrum ZX by now.

I am very pleased that you got the money back. We've all been there and the thought that somebody has been been given the difference back is excellent.

You have been slated on here and I think that is unfair. You only asked for advice.

Just goes to show. If you don't ask you don't get.

  • I'm sorry - did you say that you've taken out their inhouse insurance on it? If so cancel it NOW. you have 30 days (normally, maybe 28days) as a cooling off period and the policy is worth next to nothing in real terms.

I'm glad that you got the £150 difference.

Well done to Currys for making that gesture.

I'm sorry if you thought people were hard on you, I just thought that your post came across that you were ENTITLED to the £150 difference. - which in my opinion you weren't.

Good for you. That's good news, but you're somewhat out of line to criticize the posters who found your initial post extraordinary: the implication that Currys had, in some way, wronged you was bizarre, to say the least. It's nice that Currys has done this for you, but it really had no obligation to do so.

    I quite agree.

And if the laptop goes back up to it's original price after the Easter sale I trust you'll be going back to Currys to give them £150 back............. :D
