Hi all! Well just spent the last 3 hours decluttering all the drawers & cupboards in the kitchen & dining room! It needed doing big time as it hasn't been done thoroughly for about 2 years:o ! In the process I found a £1's worth of pennies bagged up, plenty of Xmas & Birthday wrapping paper & tags & about 30 Xmas cards & about 100 brown envelopes! What shocked me most though was the amount of vouchers that have gone to waste, as they have all expired. So from now on we're gonna put any vouchers we get in a little box & write the expiry date in a diary, so we make sure that we use them! Feels so good to see the drawers & cupboards so neat & tidy & I have promised myself to keep on top of them! Going to do a room a day this week! Thanks for reading & all the best!

Ha ha Lucielle! Going to try & keep on top of everything from now on! Don't get me wrong, the house is always clean, but clutter soon builds up if we let it get on top of us & we have a habit of shoving everything into our drawers & cupboards! Don't like to make excuses, but both doing alot of extra hours at the moment, so the house isn't always as neat & tidy as we'd like it to be. OH does most of the housework, but DD & I will have to start helping much more, so as from tomorrow we will be helping out much more, even if it's only an hour each a night. Just by de-cluttering today must have saved us over a tenner, as if I hadn't done it, the Xmas wrapping etc. would still be there & we would have gone out & bought a load more!

Well this month has been our biggest struggle for a while. Had to fork out car tax, money to repair bathroom & kitchen ceiling & money for damage to car. So we have added about £450 to our debts. Not going to let it get us down, as thse things happen & there's absolutely nothing we can do about it & we have a roof over our heads & food on the table. Just hoping to limit the damage in December & get back on track in January. Not been very motivated regarding doing overtime, so need to start getting motivated again. Not much else to say really, apart from we hope that next month is alot better for us. Thanks for reading & here is our new update

Thanks Rammy, yes I do go through phases where it all gets me down too, but as you say, things will sooner or later get better. on the plus side we have £400 saved towards wedding, aswell as already paying £350 off. Just on a bit of a downer as it's the first month that we have added to our debts for a while. It is hard staying upbeat at times, but there is always people alot worse off than ourselves. Thanks for readin & all the best!

Thanks Lucielle. Yeah we have loads to look forward to next year, at the time we decided to get married we knew that the debt busting would have to take a back seat for a while so to speak, so I don't know why I have felt so down about adding a little to our debts. Started to do a little more overtime again & I have the option to work 7 days a week til Xmas & I'm going to do that, it will pay for Xmas if nothing else. I think that I seem to feel down because of the time of year more than anything else to be honest, I guess thinking about debt 24/7 adds to the winter blues! I think realistically we shall aim to be under £30k by the time we get married & then we can really start debt busting. Thanks for replying & all the best.

Hi all, well the year is nearly over & I thought I would give a quick update on things. Been a long hard slog workwise this month, but it has definately been worthwhile, as working all those extra hours has paid for a great Xmas & also we have cleared a little of our debts. Feeling more upbeat about things & we're ready to take the debts by the scruff of the neck so to speak next year. We may not clear loads but as long as we can pay for wedding & clear some debt at the same time, we will be happy. OH back at work now after using some of her holiday entitlement up earlier this month. She worked Xmas Eve/Xmas morning, last night, tonight & is workin New Years Night & also doing 9 shifts in a row next month, so with all the enhanements & extra hours we should really get quite alot of debt shifted aswell as put quite alot aside for wedding next month. Took my days off today & Monday as I was ready for a break to be honest & we are going to have a night out tomorrow night & once we see the New Year in it is back to busting the debts the best that we can! Thanks for reading & all the best to you all!!

Hi all! Had some cheques through the post from Citicard today for cheques & BTs at 7.9% LOB with 3% fee(offer ending 28th Feb 09). The rate we were originally paying was 5.9%, until I forgot to make a payment & lost the promotional rate. Then a couple of months ago some cheques came through the post offering 5.9% APR til May 09, then after that 21.9%! So as soon as next statement comes through we will pay off balance with overdraft & then put cheque in the bank again, so the balance is 7.9% til balance is paid off in full!
