Ive had one for nearly 18 months and to be honest, I think its the first phone Ive had that hasnt given me any probs. Ive dropped it several times even damaged it to the point I needed to replace the LCD screen and its still fine!
Im not sure what you can do but what about contacting the manufacturer? Most items have a one year warranty these days - not sure if the lack of receipt will be a prob or not.

I got one of these last week - none of the problems you describe. Do you have anything at all that proves where you bought it from? If you paid by card, the shop might be able to trace it back if you give the date and show them the card.0

My partner and I have both had the T610 for almost 12 months now.
About 2 months ago my partner's phone kept playing up - wouldn't always turn on, and occasionally turned itself off. It always turns on eventually just takes lots of attempts sometimes.
At this point my phone was still fine, but just this week I've started having the same problem. It is only very infrequent for both of us, maybe once a week. But still annoying >:(
Neither of us have had problems with charging though. Have you got a friend with a Sony Ericsson charger that you could borrow? Might just be that you need a new one.
Hope you get it sorted soon.0 -
I've had mine for about 7 months and sometimes it takes a couple of attempts to switch it on but I just thought that was being being rubbish at pressing the button right. It has just recently started to play up when charging. If I switch the phone off and charge it nothing happens, so I need to leave it switched on. Other than that it's been fine.0

Thanks for your responses ;D
Well I found my credit card receipt for the phone, so hopped of back to the shop, asked to speak to the store manager as shop assistant was a bit of a pleb
anyway he wanted me to leave the receipt with him while he did some checks and call back tomorrow ??? (errrmm. don't think so pal) so i insisted that he take a photocopy and i will call back in tomorrow, will see what tomorrow brings. Gosh i'm so glad i have all this time on my hands ::)Nobody can make you feel inferior, without your permission

That should be OK as "proof of purchase" doesn't just mean a receipt.
You've now shown them your proof!
It's no loss to them to arrange the replacement or repair. (The manufacturer will end up with the problem).
If you have any more hassle, don't be afraid to name and shame them!0 -
I have three T610s , one of which is almost a year old and seems to work ok- the other two were only purchased about 6 weeks ago on the BT tarriff for £4.99 per month.
Anyway one of these has never been used and the other one although 6 weeks old has been used for about 4 hours and it isn't working- it started off resetting itself again and again and now when switched on won't register anything- all you get is the egg timer on screen.
anyway phoned up dialaphone where it was bought only to be told that exchanges were only valid for first 21 days. When i pointed out i thought the law was 6 months for new goods, was told to fradulently claim off my insurance!
I asked to speak to a suppervisor whoc after a lot of hassle said send it back to their repair centre (she first tried to palm the responsibility onto sony erricsson and say it had nothing to do with them!), at my own expense. This seems wrong to me.
Anyone know what I should do next please?Mark Hughes' blue and white army0
