Just wondering if anybody has heard anything today, acceptance or rejection emails? Also has anyone not already paid yesterday received anything to day?

No im still awaiting payment for the acceptances i recieved yesterday (although, fair play, it did say payment on friday) and still awaiting 4 approvals (i think)!

Lets hope they are moderating all comments not made by MSE today, or else it seems like yet another wasted day by WS.................

No acceptances, no rejections, nothing. It's a pain because I never received emails before W:S went offline, I just received payment. Now, because of this, I'm having to "Check my Stats" through the day to see if anything has shifted. More time wasted.

Just on the subject of the hourly rate.

I can consistently type 10 comments within an hour.

My original rate was £10 an hour, but I have now stepped up to teh £1.50 per comment, so effectively £15 per hour.

When the site was running, I aimed to work on it for an hour a day, to save getting sick of it, hence my stats, if you click back a couple of pages.

But in order to get that you need to type your 150 words and publish them in to the site within about 5 minutes, allowing for mental blocks, sore fingers, spell checking etc.

i find it quite easy to write 4 or 5 comments for each tpoic if you stick to a plan of, for, against, neither for nor against and then one or two that are a little bit off track! so far this means i can write a good 24 + comments with ease per day if i want to and my track record for acceptance is 100% so far so theres no compromise there. as far as speed is concerned once you get into this trend of writing youmay find that your articles are so structurallysimilair you can roll them off by the minute keeping them unique thanks too the topical info.
i think I picked this up from GCSE RE :D

No disrespect intended to you Andy, or any other posters, but my point wasn't about what people have earned in the past, it's about what they may earn now there are a lot more posters doing it.

Anyone can guarantee they can write 10 comments per hour, but we don't have a guarantee we will be paid for every comment.

i their there are people who have had every comment accepted, but they may not get them all accepted in the future. I'm sure you yourself said you had 7 comments rejected. At 10 comments per hour that's about 40 minutes work you didn't get paid for.

What I am interested in seeing is people posting their rejection rates when the topics come back. Do WS really have the funds to pay for ever above standard comment they receive, or will they have to reject comments because they can't afford to pay for them.

In that month when everyone was wondering when they were going to moderate comments and pay people, and saying that they could be doing this while to site is being fixed, the one thing nobody thought of was "What if they are not moderating comments and paying us because they haven't got the cash?"

Maybe it wasn't the amount of users that caused the site to go down, maybe we just cleaned out their paypal account.

Good news for those that have been paid. :)

I'm still glad I only did 3 comments to test the water, as they are still awaiting moderation and no sign of any dosh coming my way soon. :(
  • totally agree with you geordie joe.

and if they are selling our comments on as previously said, maybe they have had to do that before they can continue the site just so they have enough to pay us, although im sure that would be unlawful.....

to be honest we do not know an awful lot about the site for facts, only what we have supposed..

I've found in life that the phrase "actions speak louder than words" is a good marker for having confidence in anyone or organisation.

The fact that we saw little action over just getting past submissions accepted or rejected, or past payments paid, (which is still the case for some of us at least) - but, perhaps in this case more importantly is that there was a dearth of even words/communication to tell us what was going on - and that is, for me at least, telling.

I still have an open mind on all this - but there is quite a large question mark in there - if it does all get sorted out this time - it would not surprise me at all to see a repeat of what we have just experienced.

I'd love to be proved wrong - (mind you, I'd also love to get paid) ;-))

    *EDIT*

@ Bells&Whistles ... suggest you keep a watching brief over this thread and on the site itself - it's how any of us are keeping up to date.

I too have my reservations about the site. It is great to get paid, but for a site backed by an ecommerce company their technical problems seem almost too convenient. I enjoy the writing and enjoy the payments but do not have full confidence in WS or the motives behind it. I keep checking and watching, but have my reservations.

We had a flurry of activity but again things are quiet!
