good idea, especially as it should all fit in a make up case. easy enough to stash someone inconspicuous

My advice for this would be.....don't bother. I intended doing one of these, and did carry a few things with me but in the end I only used the lip gloss! I know that it sounds like a really good and practical idea, but its really one more unnecessary thing to worry about - I even wish that I hadn't bothered with a handbag at all.....it just got in the way.

My dress got slightly damaged and my bustle didn't work properly, but to be honest the last thing I thought about on the day was stopping for "repairs" - believe me when I say that you'll be so busy enjoying yourself that the day will just fly by and you'll wonder where the time went!

Got to agree with with VampGirl. Although getting Maid of Honour to carry the stuff instead is a better idea if you really must.

    Set of safetypins
needle and white thread (already threaded, added a black one too for OHs kilt outfit in case of lost buttons)
    spare set of stockings
    Deodorant wipes
    mini hairspray
    cooling foot spray
perfume - mini of my favourite perfume
instant icepack (in case of twisted ankles... I'm paranoid ok!) this will be keot in my room tho...
    pain killers
proplus (these will be VERY needed as the day wears on!)
Mini tube of my foundation, lipgloss and basic make up kit
    Rennies
absorbing tissues for the forehead etc from boots stops shine etc :)

I would also agree with Vampgirl and LizD. I end up with a rip in the hem of my dress - caused by my own shoes  , but I didn't want to miss any of the party and I was the only one that noticed it!

All I carried with me was lipstick, powder, a small perfume and rescue remedy - couldn't recommend rescue remedy enough - especially in the hours building up to the wedding.

Hope you all enjoy your wedding days.

I've written a list of things to carry, which is mostly various medications, LOL. As I have IBS, I'm carrying a TON of my various meds, because stress makes it worse and I don't want to spend my wedding in the loo.

But aside from that, I have saved a couple of Beauty Tips form the last box I was able to find.

Has anyone seen these recently? They come in a plastic box - about cigarette box size - and they look like cotton buds, but the body is hollow and is filled with eye make-up remover. You snap one end off and the liquid flows to the other cotton bud end.

They are the GREATEST THING in the world for touching up mascara or eyeliner that's gone walk about on your face.

But I haven't been able to buy any new for a year.

I love these, have a few left in my current box but haven't seen them in shops for a long time. Last time I saw them was in Sainsburys a couple of years back and they were in the clearance section so I bought all the boxes they had!
  • great thread - am now in a huge dilema now tho - do I go prepared for every eventuality or just go with the flow?? :) I think I will come down on the 'I will be enjoying myself far too much to care' side of the fence!
    for me it will be

    lip gloss

although I will be staying in the hotel where we are having the reception so the deoderant and powder and stuff will just be up the stairs :)

Ikkleosu...I hope you are going to be VERY excited.

Looking for some more of these, it seems you just can't get the original make anymore, so I came across these for £6 a box which is ridiculous:
    http://www.lookfantastic.com/beauty/bare-escentuals/gifts-and-packs/bare-id-on-the-spot-eye-make-up-remover-swabs.html

Then, on ebay, found you can get 6 packs of 24 from USA for about £7 inc P&P: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/6-pks-Eye-Makeup-Remover-Swabs-144-ct-Mascara-Eyeliner_W0QQitemZ230237308281QQihZ013QQcategoryZ31777QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Same seller even does 24 packs for approx £12 inc P&P, which works out at 50p per pack!!!

I am ordering right away! I can't go anywhere without some in my handbag (because I'm sad).

I emailed the manufacturer when I first discovered I couldn't buy Beauty Tips anymore and they said they had discontinued them. I was gutted because they are so handy to have in your bag.

    Thanks for the links honeypop
