AmEx Card

On the last couple of programs this card has been given as one to have, however I applied for a nectar card which was giving bonus points and was AmEx.
When I tried to make purchases or pay for car and house insurance I found that it was not acceptable because it was A.E.
I have now cancelled it.

  • This is still the wrong board... dont get so narked up!

Plenty of places accept AE just not as many as Visa and Mastercard. This is because AE charge such a high amount for a vendor to process the card payment!
James thinks worrying is like a rocking chair, it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere

If i help you...Please thank me!

Sounds like you're cutting off your nose to spite your face, a tad.

I have a nectar Amex...yeah, sure, some places don't take it, but if I use it in places that do, I get nectar points on it...Some nectar points here and there (especially sainsburys, bp etc) is better than no nectar points...

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere (please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. If you have any questions about this policy please email abuse@moneysavingexpert.com.
