I wasn't going to apply for Citi 5.8% life of balance transfer card as Martins weekly email advises that a good credit rating is needed and I was declined by Virgin a few months ago.
My credit scores are Equifax 683,Experian 741,callcredit 829.
Was confused as to which agency Citi would go to so posted question on forum, got great advice:T , checked via stoozing site ( it states that Citi do go to equifax)and mse (it states that Citi do not go to Equifax)
Took chance applied have been accepted and given £4,000 limit.:j
Wondering if 5.8% as opposed to 0% is easier to get.
Have overall debet of £12,500 should I apply for another card now or wait? Is it worth seeing if new card will increase £4,000 limit?

So who do Citi use for the info ?? is Egg owned by Citi!!0

Have asked 'checkmyfile' which credit agency Citi used but they said I have to wait a month to have my accounts updated. I'm guessing they used Experian as don't think i'd have been accepted if they had used equifax.sorry no idea who owns egg0

Well i sign up to credit expert and my score with them is 505 I applied to Citi and got a 5.9 LOB offer as well as a 16.1% Apr with a really good credit limit as well, although I dont understand why my credit score is really low, I have 4 credit cards had them for a few yesrs with no missed payments, a mobile phone contract for 4 years no missed payament and my curretn acoun ton for 5 years no missed payments, im on the electral roll and no fraud or anything but they still say I have a Very Poor credit score on Credit Expert just goes to show they really mean nothing.0

They won't know whether your Experian file was searched or not, since Experian do not provide that level of search detail to checkmyfile.Jam_tomorrow wrote: »Have asked 'checkmyfile' which credit agency Citi used but they said I have to wait a month to have my accounts updated. To see what else checkmyfile will not be able to tell you, see the 'what's included' table of information here...

Don't waste your money on checkmyfile reports...they're incomplete! Spend £2 each (if you've used up your free trial) and go directly to the CRA's.0 -

those two rates you quoted is the 5.9% your balance transfer rate and the
16.1% your purchase rate. ??0 -

Thanks for that, will cancel monthly subscripton!
You seem like you know your stuff (trying a bit of flattery)... any idea who owns goldfish or who they use ( experian or equifax)0 -
Yes LOB transfers @ 5.9% then purches etc etc etc 16.1% after the LOB transfers etc, i transfered all my other credt cards to the LOB and have put the Citi card away as "You should never spend on a balance transfer card" also it seems if I take cash out on the card from a cash machine the rate is only 16.1% as well, not bad as others seem to be double your APR for cash withdrawls, not that I would withdraw cash on a credit card anyway0

I received an offer from Citi advising I can have 5.8 lob transfer and can withdraw cash on the card at the same rate until paid off in full. However I am always receiving good offers from my present providers. My credit rating must be good.
However having said that I received an application from Vanquis the other day offering me their usual 54.9%.0 -
cheers matt for info..0

Vanquis must see you as a good prospect, Mable.....For what I've done...I start again...And whatever pain may come ...Today this ends... I'm forgiving what I've done -AF since June 20070
