I've got 2 contracts with t-Mob that are up for renewal in May... Will I have to wait until a month prior to the renewal date before I can ring up and haggle them for the new contract, or will they be able to offer me anything sooner?

Thanks
Sol

I think the later you leave it the better, but you will still have to give them your month's notice, in case they don't give you a good deal and you want to go elsewhere.

hi there, i had 2 contracts with vodafone due to end 22nd feb , on one i had 200 mins and 250txts and i was paying £25 a month and the other for £35 i was getting 750 mins and 100 txts, i called vodafone customer services and asked them to do me a better deal in the 1st week of january and i said 3 are doing 750 mins with 100txts with new phone for £18 and they were offering me a nokia n73and i was just saying it i wasnt sure how many minutes 3 were offering really!!! the woman just refused flat out and said if i wanted to reduce price i will not get a new phone. She said i could leave and i said i will think and call you back, i had a chat with my nephew he saidask them you want to leave and them to send out port codes so i could keep my existing phone nos and i was leaving them, i did call them and they said okay wec will send port codes out to your addresss , i really did not want to leave but i thought if they are going to be like that i will, well a couple of days later i got a call from the disconnections dept and THE VERY NICE LADY said may i ask why you're leaving and i said you're too expensive im getting better deals with other networks and im hot happy how your team treated my callwhen i discussed renewing my contract, she said let me see what i can do, i got 1 contract that was £25 for200 mins and 250txts for £12.50 for a 12 month contract AND: A BRAND NEWNOKIA 6500 CLASSIC PHONE!!!! AND ON THE OTHER A BRAND NEW NOKIA N95 8GB PHONE FOR £17.50 FOR 6 MONTHS AND £35 FOR THE LAST 6 AND TRA TRA 2 MONTHS FREEE INSURANCE, so go for it and if they dont listen threaten to leave and mean business!!!! good luck and i sold the classic nokia 6500 on ebay for £150 so in reality i got 1 contract freeeee!!!! good luck and i suggest you ring them in end march so you have ample time to create a fuss!

Thanks for the replies so far.

Whilst I realise this'd be a pain in the butt, is it possible to do this, if they won't offer me the deal I'm looking for (i.e. the same deal as a new customer):

    1) Request the PAC & cancel the contract.
    2) Use the PAC on a PAYG sim for 1 month (on another network - the phones are unlocked).
    3) Request a PAC from the PAYG network used in 2).
    4) Use the PAC on a NEW contract with T-Mobile.

Yep you can do this. I think Virgin Mobile are the best for the PAYG sim as they let you request another pac almost straight away (meaning you shouldn't have to remain PAYG for a full month).

You might find when you ask for your pac (and tell them the reason) they will offer something different/better :)
Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...
