Perhaps you would like to share more information about where exactly you experienced it?
Birmingham is fine. However they could do with some more leads for their Megger testers if you are doing electrics.

All you pretty much need is the qualification & a teaching qualification or assessing qualification to prove you can & are qualified to deliver the course.
Nowt to do with 5 years experience in plumbing.
To get the teaching or assessing qualification you need [at least] 5 years recent and relevant experience. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
Having done 16th edition electric's 10 year or so ago, I found the odd plumbing job around the home to be quite simple after purchasing the tools/parts..... I've just finished my new bathroom (including a new shower), fitted a mains water pressure reducing valve in my kitchen, replaced a faulty thermostat on my boiler, replaced all my radiator valves and fitted an outdoor tap with it's own automatic heating system to stop it freezing up in the winter (I was bored)
I work in an office, in electronics/IT..... I'm not sure if it's just me, maybe im just one of these multi-talented multi-disciplined people???
It's helps if you can do some basic plastering too. I reckon a sparky/plumber who can clean up their own mess and repair the wall they just routed pipe/cable down, now that's definitely worth something!!“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

No you don't.
To teach/tutor City & Guilds Plumbing 6129 Levels II & III you would be expected to have City & Guilds Plumbing 6129 Level II & III.
The teaching/tutoring qualifications expected have nothing to do plumbing whatsoever & are all to do with the ability to teach/tutor & deliver a course.
Two completely different skills/qualifications. One is the basic skills in plumbing & the other is the ability to teach/tutor.
Teaching/Tutoring/Assessing are 70s' Ds' & As'Not Again0
