My boys ear drum burst while we were on holiday a few years ago in Corfu and the insurance was brilliant. We insured through direct insurance which I think is covered by AXA. I had to stay in Corfu with the boy for an extra week until the doctors gave the OK to fly and the only thing I had to pay for was 20E a night for an all inclusive upgrade. Although we was on an all inclusive holiday the policy only covered accommodation. I really couldn't fault them one bit. They took care of the doctors bill, all the medication(which I had to claim for when I returned) accommodation, airport transfers, return flights and a nice big taxi to my door..
The burst ear drum didn't bother the boy at all and we only noticed when my wife saw it weaping abit. So the extra week was spend doing eavery thing as normal except he couldn't go swimming. He even won 150E playing bingo one night..sometimes you're the pigeon, sometimes you're the statue!0
