Hi, not sure if this is the right forum...
I have a LOT of books but sadly I don't get the time to read much any more with a young family and I am thinking of selling them.
The vast majority of them are in excellent condition and have only been read once or twice. Some of them I bought secondhand so they are a bit jaded.
Where would be the ideal place to sell them?
Thanks.

It is free to list items but they take a fee once they sell - if they don't sell there is no fee. The fees work on a sliding scale and are different depending on the item and the sale price. When you go through he process of listing an item it will tell you the exact fee that will apply.0 -

Play.com is good for selling books, CDs and DVDs. No fees unless the item sells.
What are the fees for using PlayTrade?
Our fees are an incredibly low 10% commission plus 50p per completed sale. If you plan to sell a lot of items we recommend you apply to become a ProTrader. A ProTrader does not incur the 50p closing fee and can list as many items as they want. A ProTrader account costs £19.99 per month.
If you decide to transfer your cash to your bank account there is a 5% transfer fee on the balance you choose to transfer. However if you spend the money at Play.com there is no charge, saving you the 5% transfer fee altogether!
Full information about PlayTrade fees can be found in Fees Guidelines.
I have sold loads of items in the last 6 months and made over £400 just by getting rid of all the stuff I no longer read, listen to or watch.
You can sell games tooNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -

I'd second greenmetropolis.
It costs nothing to list, there is no expiry date on your listings and no end fees either. It'll be the best place for normal books (by that I mean regular literature), although it may take longer to sell on there (i've maybe sold 100 books over the last 18 months). It's BOUGHT (to Buy), not BROUGHT (to bring) AND you cannot be frauded, only DEfrauded.
Please do not buy animals from a pet store. Visit your local sanctuary or centre and give a good home to an unloved or abandoned animal.0 -
Hi there, have just had a look on green metropolis and am very tempted. My dad passes stacks of books on to me almost every time i see him, and I just pass them on to the charity shop when I've read what I want.
Just have a quick question though...how much do you actually make on a book? It says they give you £3 and you pay the postage and packing, but I've no idea what this might cost for a 'standard paperback' Clues anyone?
Regards
Linda
