Please please please do not try and open new accounts while suspended, that is such a bad idea I can't even begin to explain. It also directly breaches ebay terms and conditions and when caught you will received a ban for life.

Shill bidding is something that does drive most ebay sellers up the wall, and even here on MSE when shill auctions are suspected are people ask for an opinion the seller in question soon gets suspended as people will report them, where other breaches might be sene more favourably.

All you can do is wait out your suspension then when you have served your time reapply to them and try and get the matter resolved. Even after serving your suspension you mustn't just open a new account, you must get the old account reinstated first.

Any bans will also apply to any associated people including your boyfriend.

You could move to Nigeria? There seems to be no problem opening multiple accounts in someone else's name in Abuja City.

To answer a specific point about appealing, you could try but frankly I think you don't stand a chance. The reason being you have broken two major conditions, not one and because one is fee avoidance ebay take a very dim view.

For future reference, if you want a certain price for your item and it is below the reserve threshold just start the item at that price..no need to shill. By starting at a price lower than you wish to sell and then shilling to protect your price you are making a very obvious attempt to avoid fees.

What happened is - and this is the truth - I put something up for sale on ebay - I wanted to put a reserve on it but £50 was too much - so I advertised it and put the 1st bid in myself with another account - I did not make another bid after that, but I now understand that this is considered as shill bidding. I honestly was not trying to push up the price but just set a minumum reserve on it that was lower than £50.

Hi i got suspended from ebay for 2yrs it drove me insane the problem i had was i was new to ebay and had a bag that looked like a louis vuitton so when i came to list it i put in my title louis vuitton STYLE bag and my desciption was as honest as it could be i wasnt trying to mislead anyone,But ebay took it off ,so i relisted it Again ebay took it off and suspended my account for 2yrs it was so hard to get it reinstated
I opened another account via my father inlaws account and after 6 months they realised and suspended his account for 1yr i could not belive how much i missed it.

Try and fax all your details off as soon as possible and email them regular im sure you will be back on soon ,also post your details off to them rec delivery
im sure you will learn by your mistakes and take no chances

I know exactly what you mean - I had some dealings with some one from nigeria tryng to buy one of my items! It just seems so unfair dishonest people get away with it!

Is there a way of seeing what address you had as your registered ebay addres on your acount when you are suspended?
Ebay have asked me to send over the proof ID details - which is fine but I think I may have my old address on the details and want to check.
Or do you think I should just send a covering letter with the details giving details of my old addresses?

The Nigerian scammers are caught very quickly now..however it is difficult to get into a discussion about dishonest people not getting caught when many ebay users would consider shilling to be one of the most heinous of 'crimes'.

It is probably best just to say that there does seem to be a slight increase in the number of people getting caught for whatever breaches. Or maybe it is just that ebay users are themselves getting more militant and reporting them. Since you would have had to be extremely blatant to get caught accidentally by ebay it must mean someone reported you, which means that you somehow were less than careful when you breached the rules. A single incidence of shilling is extremely difficult for anyone to spot.

I had the same problem i didnt know if it was registred in my husbands name but with my bank details i think thats why it took so long neverfound out until i got reinstated,i tried both lots of details

you would be better of doing the same try both addresses and hope for the best
