Phoned Sky to inform them I'm moving house.
They said my Sky PLUS subscription started 21st June 07 (I had been on normal Sky for a year before that), so as I'm under Sky+ subscription until 21st June 08 I have to pay the £50 for an engineer as I'm not allowed to install it myself. I said I will wait until the 21st and install it myself then, and just go without it for 3 weeks (I'm moving on 2nd June). They said I can do that. What would happen if I do plug my box in at the new address before the 21st?

The bit about sky saying that you cannot install the new system yourself is, IN MY OPINION ONLY, rubbish.

I am just about to move house and I fully intend to install my own system and then set up a sky subscription.

If you have the teccy knowledge, then give it a go

Hi libertino, if you plug your equipment in before the 21st then you will be fine. You'll receive all the same services as if you were at your current place. I would recommend not plugging your phone line in though as Sky could use this to trace that you've plugged it all back in. If you're still in contract you might get a warning letter telling you you're contracted to have your sky box plugged into the phone line during the 12month contract, but you normally get 3 of these over the course of 2 months before Sky bother calling you up about it, and by then you'll be plugged back in and laughing. Hope this helps [MaccA]
