Assuming the scarts will output, and aren't just inputs.

I have the very device, as pictured, and it has a switch to choose between input and output.

    P.S. Signature song is amazing.

Edit. I totally misread. The scarts on the TV are probably just inputs.

Woot, very impressed someone knows it. :D
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it

Thanks everyone. I don't have a minidisc recorder or any other way of (cheaply) using the optical output, but I've had a look at the LG website and the manual says that you can "Connect scart socket input or output from an external device to these jacks", so presumably (fingers crossed), those Scart to phono adapters should work a treat.

Here's a clue. It's a LCD TV and therefore needs a HD source to get a decent picture.
Yawn Yawn, someone still peddling the old myth about LCD being no good except on HD sources, you should be ashamed of yourself. a decent make, Sony, panny, or sharp gives a superb pic in SD sources, even from the built in Freeview tuner, dont take my word for it, see for yourself

Phew! That's a relief, Roddydogs! I'm hoping to be able to see the TV before I buy, *and* am getting that particular one because it seems better than average (according to reviews) at displaying SD sources. I hope it's okay. Fingers crossed!
