LCD TV - optical audio output to phono...?

I was just about to buy an LG 3275LT television... until I heard that it doesn't have co-axial phono audio outputs, which I would use to connect my hi-fi for better sound quality.

I really can't believe that something so fundamental is missing from a modern TV, but after a quick look at the manual on the LG website, it seems that the only audio output is optical. Is anyone who actually has the TV able to confirm this?

If this is the case, is there anyway I can get an audio output to plug into my stereo? Can I (cheaply) convert an optical output to phono, or do any of the SCART pins carry an audio signal that I could use?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
