Young Driver Needed Car Insurance Urgently!!!!! Please Help!!!!!!!

Hello, I am a 17 year old male from Birmingham and have just passed my test last week. I own a Peugeot 106 1.1 Independence. The car is insurance group 3 but I cannot seem to find insurance. I have practically looked everywhere and am on the verge of giving up as the best quotes as I have found are £3000+, this is a ridiculous price for me to pay as I am a student and only work part time, also to be honest I don't really fancy paying £3000 for 3rd party insurance on a £700 car. I desperately need to find insurance. If anyone could give me any pointers it would be more then highly appreciated as I need to get my car on the road ASAP!

Thank You

KJ

try the last thread you posted about this?

it's going to cost a fortune whatever you do because of your age, the fact that you're male, a new driver, nd in Birmingham (one of the UK's car crime capitals)

Believe me I have tried everything everyone suggested, however still no luck, I sold the punto and brought a 106 thinking the insurance would be cheaper, but it's still more or less the same.

have you been on confused.com or any of the screenscraper sites?

If thats the prices your getting (£3000) then thems the prices I'm afraid. you're young, male inexperienced and in birmingham. All high risk to insurance companies.

Yeah I've been to confused, !!!!!!!!!, comparethemarket, tesco compare and the rest of them still no luck. But I mean it's weird how my quote comes up £3000 and my friend who is also 17 and only lives round the corner insured his for £1500 as first driver aswell

Direct Line quoted me about £1000 cheaper. my girlfriend was £500 cheaper than that!

I think they are probably best to go with when your young.

You cannot really compare yourself with someone else when getting prices as no 2 people have EXACTLY the same situations so therefore will not be exactly the same risk.

If you have tried EVERYWHERE as you say then there is no where else to try really.
Direct line dont come up on screen scrapers so try them as the above poster advises.

Hope you get it sorted soon

Yeah I understand what you're saying but I mean we are in SIMILAR situations and he is getting half the price I'm getting.
Obviously I haven't been EVERYWHERE literally but I have been looking around for ages, I'm getting bored of repeating the same thing on the phone over and over and over again lol.

Thank you all for your help will try directline

Perhaps before you sold one car and bought another (or perhaps even before you bought the first one) you might have got the insurance sussed? Then you wouldn't be in this situation.

And why have you bought another car which is group 3, rather than something incredibly insurance friendly like a group 1?
  • I'm 25, but still had difficulty getting a sensible quote from any insurers. This lot were about £1500 cheaper than anything I could find on confused and comparethemarket etc.

Also try adrian flux and ecar insurance. At 29 and just passed test I struggled to find my best quote of £1200!!! Fortunately it almost halved the next year.
