Love crafts but hate paying out

I sometimes watch the Create & Craft tv channel and they sell card making templates which I would love to have but would hate to pay for (£12 - £18 for 5 +p&p) I make cards for charity funding raising and have to keep the costs as low as possible. Please does anyone know where I might find some free templates (on the internet for example)? Thanks in advance
ps More advice wanted - how would I find out about craft/sewing groups etc in the area I live in? Have tried an internet city search - but no joy.

In our Index Collections sticky there's a Home Made Gifts section which has lots of info on cards and related subjects and lots of pointers to sites. There's also the Craftwork section of the MEGA Index sticky at the top of the forum listing.
But you can find "home Made Gifts" in our "Indexed Collections" sticky at the top of the forum listing, or you can follow the clue in my signature any time you see it or...
..you can use the Indexed Collections link in the Blue Bar at the top of every page which looks something like this:-

Not a suggestion for free templates, but for a much lower cost than tv shopping channels have you tried Ebay? They are great for lots of craft stuff & it's where I buy a lot of mine. I save a fortune on shop prices & p&p is generally very reasonable. Sometimes you have to wait for the particular item you're after to appear in a listing, but in my experience, if you're patient, you'll get what you want eventually.
As for craft groups, how about asking at your local library, or if there is a community centre in your area, see if they run any there. My local community centre runs a craft group apparently so I'm going to enquire about that. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Asda have some pretty good craft bits and pieces (stick-on things, motifs, cards etc), all quite cheap; and Lakeland in Cardiff have a whole floor of reduced items, with masses of craft items at bargain prices. I can't remember if they have templates, unfortunately.0

Hi I am a primary school teacher so do a lot of crafts with the kids. An excellent site for cheap ideas is
https://www.familyfun.com
where you can search for crafts for every occassion.
Also in Poundland they have a great selection of card kits which i have seen in other shops for around £5.0 -
I am a card making addict and my family and friends know better than to throw ANYTHING away without offering it to me first!!! I cut up old cards, packaging, gift tags etc to recycle into new cards; they can be made very cheaply this way.
With regards to the workshops there is a shop called Stampezee (I think it's in Cheylesmore) that I know used to do workshops, I assume they still offer them.
Hope that helps.

I'm the same, I hang on to everything
!! I hadn't heard of the Stampeezee shop but I've just looked it up in the telephone directory and it's in Coundon which isn't that far away from me (to be honest, Coventry is so small that NOWHERE is far away
) and I will certainly go and have a look. Thanks for the info :T 0 -
I knew it began with a 'C'!!0
