how to unlock k750i

hi there, i have just bought a new k750i, to start, i would say its a great phone, but i was wondering if anyone knew how i could unlock it for free, currently the phone is unlocked to O2 network......pls do help.......thanx

are you sure its locked to o2? usually o2 phones are unlocked.. well all the ones that we got for our work contract were unlocked.

senthil 208 does actually say "its unlocked to o2" .. so not sure what the query is ?

i've just had 2 from o2 as upgrades and they were unlocked .. sold them within hours on ebay for £200.

i also ordered 2 on the recent good vodaphone tariffs ... one came in normal sony box.. black phone .. unlocked .. the other came in a red vodaphone sony 750 box .. silver phone with voda logo... and locked to voda .

i posted query the other day about how to unlock.. no-one answered ,

Most Motorola's , LG's , most new Samsungs, Sony Ericssons cannot be unlocked by code and need to be unlocked by direct cable or clip in a shop.

Taken from the sticky unlock other manufacturers phones.

Apart from the phones mentioned in that thread this phone cannot be unlocked for free by using a code and therefore you need to take it to someone for unlocking.

I also think the K750i will need to be taken to an unlocking service using a cable.

However, there seems to be a bit of doubt about whether this phone is already unlocked. Before going to a lot of trouble, why not try another non-O2 SIM card in the phone and see whether this is accepted, or if you get a "rejected" message? That will quickly sort out whether you need to have it unlocked or not.
