Minimum Amount to save in ISA

What is the minimum amount I can save in ISA?
I was thinking of opening an account this month or next month, starting with £50.
And I was just wondering if the minium amount is higher than that? I will increase my amount in May, when my money goes up.

There is no 'legal minimum amount' for an ISA. Some accounts have minimums but most don't - just check with the provider to see if there's a minimum amount before you open the account.a few lucky breaks, adaptation of the snowball and selling a car... debt freedom!0

My ISA has a minimum of £1
£50 is fine0 -
My girlfriend just opened the Barclays Tax Haven ISA with £10 in branch, so don't worry too much. But I would suggest you put in as much as you can, even meaning there won't be much disposable income in April, in order to make the most of this tax years allowance0

Thanks guys, I appreciate your help.

I will try to save as much as I can, but I also have my daughter's 7th Birthday approaching right at the end of April, so that's all I can think about, at the moment. Obviously I want to spoil her (but try not to spoil her toooo much).

Hi Debbie, I'll move this into the ISAs sub-forum

Hi, Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances: I’ve asked Board Guides to move threads if they’ll receive a better response elsewhere(please see this rule) so this post/thread has been moved to another board, where it should get more replies. I got my ISA :j
Opened it yesterday at my Bank, at Lloyds TSB. I opened it with a measly £10, and then I will save £100 thereafter.
Hope to save a bit more, about £200 at end of year, because I'm hoping to save to go to New Zealand in 4 years for my 40th birthday. My family live there, and I haven't seen them for 21 years. Last time I went I was 14, when I went with my Mum.
(Changing the subject slightly.... we should all go and live in New Zealand. They all seem to be happy, healthy and wealthy over there. They've all got a swimming pool, like we all have a TV. They obviously have a better government than us).
Wish me luck guys.
I'm not that good at saving, but trying my best, I do have 2 little girls, at the end of the day. (which is why I need you to wish me luck and give me motivation, I'm useless, lol).0 -
What has the fact that you wish to spend your money spoiling your seven year old rather than spoiling yourself with a swimming pool got to do with any government? You make your own choices in this world.
Get yourself a pool and go for a nice dip in it, after all we do have the perfect weather for it ... or should the government do something about that, as well?0 -
Wouldn't it get a bit crowded?DebbieMids72 wrote: »we should all go and live in New Zealand.
So that's a swimming pool in every kid's bedroom, then. :eek:They all seem to be happy, healthy and wealthy over there. They've all got a swimming pool, like we all have a TV.
Well so do lots and lots of countries ....They obviously have a better government than us.
Does 'guys' include gals?Wish me luck guys.
Good luck!
I bet that tires you out ...I'm not that good at saving, but trying my best, I do have 2 little girls, at the end of the day.
"The deep root of failure in our lives is to think, 'Oh how useless and powerless I am.' It is essential to think strongly and forcefully, 'I can do it,' without boasting or fretting.”(which is why I need you to wish me luck and give me motivation, I'm useless, lol).
