problem with screen

    they re not doing anthing, just cutting off part of the screen

    You've turned on the virtual desktop. This makes the screen larger than the physical monitor. Pointless feature, and annoying.

    Right click on the blank part of the screen to get properties up, then click on Settings, then turn off the setting which says extend desktop beyond screen. Unfortunately my system doesn't have it so I cannot remember what it's called or where it is. But hopefully you should be able to find it.

    It might even be removed by dropping the screen resolution. The computer might think the screen cannot support the resolution, and has started the virtual desktop by itself.

    ok thanks everyone its working, i've put the resolution right to the lowest screens a bit fuzzy but i'd rather have that then have to keep moving the screen

    Now check to see if the monitor that is attached is the one the computer thinks is installed. If not, put it to the generic monitor and change the max supported resolution to what the monitor can support (can't go wrong with 1024x768@72Hz) and see if you can turn the resolution of the computer back up.
