Touching up chips in old paintwork

Options
Has anyone any suggestions as to how I could touch up chips in old paintwork? Specifically those in skirting boards, doorframes etc. These were last painted by the previous owners about five years ago. The paint WAS white but is now slightly "yellowed" - not noticably, but new white paint stands out somewhat. You'll gather I'm not looking for a perfect finish here, just one that passes a casual glance. Is there anything I could add to the new paint in an attempt to approximate the existing colour? The other potential problem I have is the finish of the existing paint - it's slightly shinier than eggshell, but certainly not gloss. Judging from the empty tins I found, it is probably a mixture of gloss and matt paint. Any suggestions, other than sanding and repainting the lot?

Try sugar soaping it. It's amazing how much grime it shifts :) Your colours might be close enough to match then.

Also, try a matt match pot sample wotsit (of maybe yellow or light brown) and mix a bit in with a small amount of your white paint to see if you can get the colours even better after cleaning.
