Isa Advice Needed Please!!

Hi guys
Ok I have almost 4k in my halifax isa, the rate is poor but as i opened a new isa in July (with egg) am I right in thinking I cant really transfer the 4k halifax balance to a new isa until april??
Once April comes can I transfer the 4k to a new isa (which allows transfers) AND add a further 3k allowance to this account??
If not shall I just go for a high interest regular saver to save my cash?

You can transfer the £4k ISA at any time .. no need to wait until April. And you can transfer it to the Egg one (assuming it accepts transfers in?) - or to a fresh one.
After April you can add a further £3.6k. And you can do that either to the consolidated Egg one you've created .. or to the new one you've transferred the £4k to (if you decide other than Egg)If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0
