Been in bed since 7pm and then DS2 woke up coughing at 10pm so now i can't sleep.

Rach i'd love to see some pics most have missed them the last time.
Skint_spice hope your feeling better soon.
Sobliuion i hate when that happens.
    Mudbath glad op is over.
Tracey thats great news, when i first moved up here i knew no one. I tried the mother and toddler made a few friends who now are leaders in the youth club. I found it really hard and found that no one would talk to me but they all knew each other well. Since i've started the courses at the woman's center i've made another 2 friends and it's been great just to be me, not someone wife or mother. Oppps flip i can go on.:rotfl:
Sometimes it seems that the going is just too rough.
And things go wrong no matter what I do.
Now and then it seems that life is just too much.
But you've got the love I need to see me through.

JillD - thank you, your post hit the nail on the head, yes I can't even have a wee without him climbing on my knee. My gym is the council one so I can use the pools with LO but only does creche from 18 months but thats only a month away! I'm in Nottinghamshire
    ...
And try and arrange playdate with next door - right all sounds like a plan!

tracy - glad you are feeling brighter today. My gym is the council one too. The creche there is pretty good, I've been going so long I know the staff quite well now but I was a bit anxious at first. But I was always in the building (even if just the cafe LOL) so they could come and get me. It might just be the break you need for an hour or two a week. My LO goes in 3 times a week - once for an hour while I take DD1 to her swim lesson, and twice for an hour and a half while I go to the gym. I meet some friends I had already sometimes, other times I meet with other people who are there the same time as me each week and who I see with their LO's dropping off/collecting from the creche.

And I know what you mean about some playgroups being carp, you get some really odd people at some of them. I also know what you mean about making the transition from someone you just see to someone who comes over to your actual house LOL. The way I have done it is to regularly say "ooo we must get the girls/boys/kids together for a play sometime. Then after you've said this for a bit then start saying " ooo bring your diary next week and we'll organise a time" and then say "here take my mobile number and text me yours back then we can arrange something when we've checked our diaries" - this way you have given them your number, often you can tell if someone wants to be friends because if they do they will text you right back there and then, or if not you may never hear from them again!!! If they don't text you back they may just be forgetful LOL. The great thing is then if they do text you back you can then be fairly sure they are happy for you to arrange something and in fact are probably hoping you will, so you can text them and then if they really didnt want to be your friend they can think of an excuse before texting you back. I think the key is to let it progress over a few weeks dont push it too soon. Am I waffling too much ???
I have no family here and when I was pg with DS I went to every class I could to make friends. At first it was really hard and the fear of rejection was immense, but I am better at it now and sometimes people have come round and never come back, or they've come round and its been awkward and we didnt click at all. My Mum always goes on about how "lucky" I am to have such a great support network, but I dont think its luck at all, I've had to work at it, put in the time and effort but it has so paid off, because she is right in the part that I do have a brilliant support network and lovely friends.

Oh and one other thing, although I do have friends etc etc some days I feel immensely lonely as if everyone else is out having fun and doing things and I am stuck in my own private h3ll and noone feels as bad as me. So I really really do knowhow you feel, motherhood is a very lonely job sometimes.

Having a lunch out with DH sounds like a great idea too.:D
Good luck with the whole playdate thing, make sure you let us know how you get on.

Wow that was a long one. Even for me!!!

Oh yeah and I'm in Reading so miles away otherwise you could have come for coffee tomorrow (if I had any ggrrrr). DH is from Nottinghamshire :D

    :D Hello
Saw my neighbour hanging around outside with her LO so thought I'd be brave and went out and chatted to her for a few minutes. Arranged a playdate and had a nice chat, she told me some of the issues shes got at the minute and said 'thanks for talking to me, its been nice to speak to someone'! So feel like a nice neighbour today and returned some of the kindness you lot have shown me!

Anyway, thats me for today xxx

well done on taking that first step :)

Way to go Jill - well done you !!!! :T:T:T I bet you feel a little bit better already...

Managed to get ds into bed with the promise of HM pizza for supper tomorrow night - not quite sure which one of us is most excited :o

Not quite sure what to do about the whole mum thing. DH and I had time for a chat (too many customers earlier - can't complain they keep the roof over our heads) so I kinda feel better. Storming headache has gone at least.

    Today I:

    Put out the bins,
Put some name lables in ds's new pe kit.

So beating that tomorrow shouldn't be too hard :rotfl:

tia - sorry missed you earlier - great news about taking steps towards doing your course. I am pretty sure Kilmarnock college has a creche - Have you had a look at the Ayr campus for Paisley uni? just a thought.

lil_me & Pigpen - I hope your sisters start behaving themselves!

skint_spice - Hope you are feeling better soon.

soblivion - Good luck with the "creating"

SSL - The list of what the cleaner covers is actually huge lol. If you want I can pop what I have here in the post to you. tbh it deals really well with tarnished metal. I know what you mean about it looking mouldy this stuff brought back to life a really funky ice bucket that I thought I had neglected for too long...

MIL called to cancel trip out tomorrow. One of their dogs has a tumor and I think she is worried about leaving her. She wasn't well last night and if she had a "funny turn" FIL wouldn't be able to help her. So I can dedicate the day to flying - as long as I don't get distracted and start baking :rotfl:

    Night all x

soappie - as you'll have seen, I am feeling heaps better today. A good night's sleep, some sunshine, eating properly, drank more water than usual and no coffee  gosh I hope it wasnt that last one that did it. Though perhaps I should try cutting down (I do only drink decaf though)
And :rotfl: :rotfl: at you finding a fork in your undies drawer:rotfl:

ssl - WOOOOOHHHHOOOOOOOO on your weight loss this week :T :T
no not been to GP for a few weeks, funny the difference a day can make, today I've been thinking how great the meds are working (I have the memory of a goldfish LOL) I love the lighter mornings too. MUCH easier to get out of bed (well a bit anyway)

vanilla - sounds like you need some ((((hugs))). Glad doctors visit went well. And dont apologise for ranting, thats what we're here for. on weight loss, think you are right, doesnt feel like now is the right time for you, be kind to yourself and dont pile any more on.

    g&b - WQOOOOO HOOOOOO on the weight loss:j :j

taffy - I weigh in tomorrow too. Not thinking it will be a good week at all for me oh well theres always next week
