I used to have a morphy richards and I think a cup of flour was 145g.

This is the recipe I used to use:

    Yeast 1.25 tsp
    Flour 430g
    Sugar 2.25 tbsp
    Butter 1 oz
    Water 270 ml
    Milk pdr 2.5 tbsp
    Salt 1.25 tsp

    hope this helps.

Found it, I knew I'd seen it somewhere!

I remember that there was a page in my instruction book which gave the weight equivalents of a cup. Having looked through the downloads on the MR site, I've found something similar in the booklet for model 48271 page 25. I find weighing out the flour much more reliable than using the cup as a measure.

    Good luck.

Thanks i have thrown the ingredients in, i dont have any milk powder so i did half water and half milk.

I only had sea salt so i had to bash it with a rolling pin

I am worried with the amount of liquid i have put in, 220ml for the 2lbs loaf as their instructions suggest i hope its enough!!

I will find out in three hours.

As a matter of interest, I now have a Panasonic breadmaker which uses only 1.5 TEASPOONS of sugar to 475 g flour. The loaves tastes fine and rise well.

Why not try gradually reducing the amount of sugar you put in until the taste is right.

Does anyone else have a Morphy Richards where the ingredients are measure out in the little cup and spoon thingy?

I always use the recipes in the instruction manual and get good results so I don't want to risk any others but I've gone and put the manual into storage by accident.

I'm after the basic white bread and pizza dough recipes and instructions?

If you go to the Morphy Richards website you can download the manual in .pdf. Just click on the make of your breadmaker and in the next window you can get it there.
