I'm 12 months into an 18 month contract with Vodafone and have N73 phone.
Can I now ring and ask for it to be unlocked free of charge?

    Have you checked that it is locked? Many aren't - put in another SIM and see!

    yes you are quite correct, you can get it unlocked for free now. I did exactly this , myself two weeks ago. please have your IMEI number handy when you ring as they will need to know it. if you dont know yours , press *#06# on your handset to find out
