Cashback Problems
Hi, I have been studiously researching cashback deals and mobilejunkie's excellent advise and got to the point where I THOUGHT that I understood how they worked. I have taken out an 11 month cashback deal with E2save and can now see the issues that mobilejunkie has raised. The 'your offer explained section ' that I have in writing, and the online calculator both say send 6th/8th/10th and 12th BILLS, whereas the online 'my account' section and the 'terms and conditions ' printed off during the sale process both talk about the '1st bill after 120 days' etc etc. Has anybody tried averting possible problems by sending copies of the recieved terms and conditions showing timescales and claim addresses along with the claim, to avoid having to prove anything later. As a extra point I wondered how you can tell whether or not you are on a standard or price match deal as the paperwork does not seem to say. -keith1950

Not sure why but the thread you posted this on - which was full of extremely helpful information - was just closed and then vanished! I wasnpt aware there was anything contentious on it but not sure why we should spend all that time trying to help and advise only to see the time and effort mysteriously spirited away! I don't have much time to spend on here anyway right now so it's an additional disincentive to do much.
Sounds like your deal isn't a price-match one (won't be anyway if taken out in 2008). Ignore bill numbers, print read and follow the actual t&c for the deal at the time you took it out. Most of everything else is deliberately misleading - more often than not including dates on your account.0 -
my contracts run out in may and im thinking of going with e2save again as so far my claims have been successful.
having looked at the 12mnths free line rentals, they seem the same as 2006 contracts... am i right in saying this? there are always ways they can get around saying no to a claim, however the current ads dont seem to have the hidden "pricematch" issues...
am i right? how confident can i be taking a line rental out with them?
i know last year there was talks about the company going bust.................... is this still the case?0 -
Not quite. They are using the OSPS old version; i.e. not bill dates as they state and E2Save actually used. They are also searching actively for excuses not to pay - even when people follow the legal t&c or get mislead by their deliberate misinformation. Otherwise, yes!0

Mobilejunkie
So have CPW / E2save / OSPS stopped using the Pricematch cashback deals. I took a deal out with OSPS last April, before they did the Pricematch deals and have successfully claimed back all my cashback so far, just one more claim to make in April.
I have just taken out a cashback deal with M2YD for my daughter, so will be using either of these companies for myself next month.0 -
Pricematch deals ceased at the end of 2008. Different ball game now but same approach in terms of their respect for their customers.0

what exactly is a price match cashback. I ordered o2 35 12months free line rental from onestopphoneshop in end of Oct 2008, but I don't get bills from my network. Can I use online bills for my cashback?0

Check your ts + cs. Some allow online bills, some insist on originals. Some allow summary bills, others insist on itemised bills.
You must comply with whatever you agreed originally, otherwise they win!0 -
If they don't even know what t&c they are on it's a lost cause. It will be price-match and they won't accept on-line bills (among many other things. Lack of any research at the start means a hopeless case in March for an October contract. The window for claim one has or is about to close and ALL claims will be forfeited.0
