depends which your dvd writer/recorder will take. mine only takes + but some recorders take either.

-R more compatible with DVD players, +R is the only format compatible with some DVD Recorders (Along with +RW)

The + and the - indicate the different writeable DVD formats. I always keep a stock of both because I have a DVD writer that can handle both formats.

Thanks to the original poster.

I came across the thread quite early and was going for a few packs of the 25 DVD-R, but when I got through to the checkout, they were sold out. Managed to bag a couple of 100 DVD-R instead though, which may be a bit more expensive but are a bargain in my eyes!

My mate also says thanks as he has picked up some DVD+R for his standalone DVD Recorder - he is a happy bunny
