my first paypal dispute - HELP

I have received notification from paypal today that an item I sent back in February has not been received by the buyer and they have therefore now lodged a dispute against me.
I have received no notification from the buyer before today but logging into paypal, and going to the dispute resolution centre, have found three messages from the buyer which I havent received? Can anyone shed any light on this?
As I havent replied to her messages, she has now proceeded to file a dispute.
Im confused as to why I have not received these messages.
I did send the item via recorded delivery - dont know where the slip is however!! (not helpful). It might be in my desk drawer at work but if not, Im left a bit stuck as I did post the item. Its only a magazine and the amount in question is less than £7 but Im just a bit miffed that the first notification I receive is of a dispute being filed with paypal!
Can anyone tell me that if she does leave me negative feedback, as I have already left feedback, whether I can respond (i.e. whether in response to her negative feedback whether I can give my side of the story).

I'm not sure why you wouldn't have received the messages
Without the tracking number you will of course lose the dispute and the buyer will be refunded.
You can reply once to feedback received.-->♥<-- Sugar Coated Owl -->♥<--

thanks for that. Do you think I should just refund now then ? although of course if I do find the slip and find she received it - will be a bit miffed!!0

Is your email address with hotmail or aol?My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
No sadly not it says information not available at this time. It says to come back later
and the following: - Recorded Signed For™ items are only tracked after the item has been delivered. Depending on whether the item was sent first or second class, this may be a few days after posting. Please try again later.
Information on your item is not yet available online
I guess this means that either the item has not been delivered or something went wrong and she never actually signed for it but received the item.
I have entered the tracking info into paypal and it now says response awaited from buyer. I am happy to refund (although now I have entered tracking info) the refund option has vanished although I note from somewhere else on paypal that I can refund up to 60 days - should I just go ahead and do this or wait to see what the buyers response is? I dont really want negative feedback left so didnt know whether just to refund now and then claim off royal mail?0 -
How do I go about claiming via royal mail? I know that recorded delivery items are held for so long before being returned to sender if they are not called for but I have not received the item back yet. The item was posted on the 18th Feb.0

As item does not show as delivered you will definitely lose the paypal chargeback.
As for claiming losses from the Royal mail it is just the standard claim, so you can start it after 15 working days has elapsed. However, in my experience it is more difficult to persuade RM to pay out on recorded items..I don't know why, maybe I have just been unlucky. I had one refused as the post code did not exist in the same form in the RM database..even though it was oxford university!I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. my e-mail is with yahoo buts its actually a fake adddress i.e. if I start getting lots of spam, I can delete it but I dont lose my original e-mail address if you see what I mean. I will check my spam e-mails to see if the emails from the buyer ended up there.0
