Dell have a good - ish reputation I thought though you see the odd complaint.
And they often have deals that might bring a PC price down to your range (and you can get a good PC for that price these days).
I'd treat reviews in mags with a pinch of salt. The mags themselves say they rate the PC not the PC maker and some of the PCs they give rave reviews to have terrible feedback for product reliabiltiy and customer service eg Mesh (may have improved since they were on BBC Watchdog) but Eclipse Computers  seem to be the worst of the lot for reviews !!0 -
Well I guess no supplier is perfect and one just has to hope that you get a good deal at the time of purchase.0

I overheard on the Underground (of all places) tonight that this bloke bought a pc and there was no tower and it was all built into the monitor.....any advice or suggestions on this one anybody?0
-
Not got a clue about the pc in the Monitor, but its within the realms of possibility I guess and something that I will imagine becoming popular. If a computer can fit into a laptop case then Im guessing its easily possible to do the same within a monitor!0

I wonder if it would be as powerful as a desktop though..0 -

Thought I would point out this deal, it's above your budget but you may wish to save a little longer

HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
