    I hate Free Listing, 1p Listing, 5p Listing days !!!! :p

Any savings a seller makes on the front end is lost at the back end, as bidders have to wade through all the extra listings and are spoilt for choice. ;)

    (I think I'm having a GOM day) :D

I agree Tojo but put your buying hat on for the next week or so there might be some great bargains!

In a couple of categories I watch there are lots of things going up with a starting price of 99p. They should get a decent end price based on completed items but in some cases there are already 3 or 4 times more items listed already than there are usually in a whole week. That means that the bids might not be as strong, which means there is the possibility of buying something cheaply at the last moment which can be sold back on ebay, using a second id, later on a normal priced listing day.

I have my eye on something particular, usually starts at £18.99 and sells in the mid £20s but they are usually listed no more than 2 at a time. The woman today has listed several the same, one after the other using turbolister at a 99p start. Soo

I'm with you 100% on everything you say. :D

    The question is though....................

Why don't sellers realise the folly of free/1p/5p listing days?

I use these free/cheap listing days to get rid of old books I don't want. Im not interested in making a profit, just want rid. Hopefully it will also give my feedback a nice boost too. Any I don't sell I will take to the charity shop. Clears a nice space in my cupboards!

Shhhh, Tojo..if sellers didn't use the 'offer' days I wouldn't be able to pick up half my bargains.

The last time there was an offer day I picked up an item at £20.50 (including post and packing and recorded delivery) sold it a week later at a table top sale for £30, cash.

It was a dumb question I guess ... :rotfl: ... Just me "assuming" that sellers should be any smarter than buyers. ;)

Tojo Ralph, free/cheap listing days have their uses for low value items. If what you are selling is not worth more than a couple of quid, then as a proportion of the value, the listing fee can be quite hefty. Therefore I find these listing days DO have value for sellers.
