Dishonest Salesperson's and Contract Law

Hi all
I have been duped into signing a contract for a service that was sold to me, but not what I get!
To cut a long story short, I was offered an advert for £500 in a NHS magazine, to allow a discount to NHS staff to use my business service.
I was told by the Salesman who came round (in front of a witness) that
I would have exclusivity in my Home Town, and I paid a deposit of £275.
He left, and I put my copy in my filing cabinet (bearing in mind I checked it when I signed, like a good moneysaver!)
Today, I recieved my statement of Account and not only have I not got Exclusivity...but have been given a town 10 miles away to deliver my services too!
With mounting horror, I pulled out my original copy...and a section on there has a sub -directory area...which I swear was blank when I signed it...but now had the other town written on it!!
I thought back, and it dawned on me!.... After I signed the contract, the Salesman asked me for my credit Card details...and whilst I was out in the Kitchen looking for my card, he was pulling off the copies for me.
I know in my Heart of Hearts...that the guy added that bit AFTER I signed it!...I have effectively wasted my money, and can see that I have no comeback!
So be warned everyone...the MINUTE you have checked and signed your contract.. GET THE COPY AND CHECK IT AGAIN!

What a cheeky sod, id invite him back to your house next year . . . . . and ask for an explanation, but get him there under false pretenses!0 -
phone your credit card company and request a charge back, or write to the company and request they stick to the original verbal agreement or you will take further action as you have legal insurance on your home insurance.baldly going on...0

Ooh, that sucks!
Most annoying thing is they're not going to believe that you signed it before (not saying you didn't)
If you request a chargeback they will just say they are doing what the written contract says. Same goes for if you decided to take further action.0 -
Try contacting other advertisers, and see if they have been similarly ripped off?0

Hi we used the same thing about 2 years ago we actually have a few doctors and nurses that uses our service and asked them if they got the NHS booklet and they all said no so it was a total rip off we had quite a few people out of the booklet who also advertised who got nothing either so this booklet is a total rip off. sorry to bring the bad news

Things need to be marketed correctly, and recall is NOT the same as receipt.0 -
no its a total rip off if they didnt hand out the booklet thats misleading to say the least we was told that all nhs staff will get the booklet and not 1 did so it is a rip off.0
-
How was the booklet put out? Was it marketed specifically to NHS staff? Or as a standard leaflet drop?0
-
it was going to be handed out to all the nhs staff in their lockers or mail boxes. It was just for nhs staff and no one got it also other people who advertised in the booklet too called us and asked if got any customers off it because they didnt.
