Any advice how to get there quickly and easily.
Can't do ferry or coach
but will do plane or train.
2 adults - one with not-so-hot mobility.
Sept 2008 for a few days.....preferably less expensive accommodation.

You can fly to Dusseldorf from Southampton. Southampton is a nice compact airport, good if one of your party isn't too mobile.

Yeah, depends whereabouts in the S.West you are. Lufthansa also fly direct to Dusseldorf from Newquay (weekly flights, from just over £100 return inc. taxes). e.g. 6th-13th Sept. Newquay's a pretty easy/small airport too.0 -
You could get the Eurostar from London St Pancreas or from Ashford which will take you directly to Brussels. From there you can get the train to Aachen HBF. Total price would be about £200 give or take.
Hope this helps
