Abbey DO NOT Get The Habit !!

Last week I agreed to transfer some funds from my cash ISA into the new 10% super ISA, which also meant I had to invest an equal sum in a related GEB (funded from my recently matured fixed rate saver). After reading on the MSE forums how rubbish an investment this is, I quickly sent off my cancellation form.
I've a horrible feeling that I've let myself in for a lot of trouble and aggravation. Will the cancellation form mysteriously disappear? Will my money be transferred back into my e-saver account? Will the transfer from my cash ISA now not happen? On past experience I've no confidence at all that any of this will run smoothly.
At the same time, I opened a new fixed rate saver account and when I got home tried to set up a regular transfer online. After umpteen attempts the system wouldn't let me do it and kept saying my account number was invalid! So, abandoning this method I managed to set up a 13 month standing order. However, on checking a few days later, they had ignored my S/O request and set up an open-ended regular transfer. GRR!! So now I'll have to remember to stop the transfer in May 2009.
My niece is also having problems with them; not closing her account, not changing her address and failing to respond to repeated requests to sort out a £300 fraudulent DD made after her account should have been close.
The list of incompetence goes on and on...0
