I got an acer laptop from tesco about 2 months ago and each time I log into Word, I keep getting the message that I need to input the Product Key and after 25 times of logging into Word I have to input the Key or I won't be allowed to use it.
I click on the help button and it says ring your supplier to get a new key but is there a way of finding the key on the computer without having to make an expensive phone call? (Ive tried the 'saynoto0870' site but the numbers don't work so it'll be expensive).
I can't find any information in the literature that came with the laptop and microsoft website say call acer.
I'm not very computer literate so can anyone explain in 'easy language' please :rotfl:

It's quite possible you have a trial version and you'll now have to buy a key.
If I were you, if this is the case, I'd get rid and download the following free office suite which will do just about anything you want....

your laptop came with a 60 day trial of msword, which has now expired. product keys available from msoft for a price, but you may be better getting a student to buy you a copy as they get huge discount, or download openoffice (free and excellent!)
your copy of norton is also likely to expire at some point, download avg free and unstall norton before the time is up.Utinam logica falsa tuam philosophiam totam suffodiant.0 -

NO NO NO NO!!!!!!! Avoid like the plague!!!!!!
Definitely do not use that site. They charge you for downloading free software and you end up being put on a paid subscription. I suggest you remove that link, a few people on this forum have already been misled into wasting their money with that company.
Download the free Open Office from www.openoffice.org
Edit: link has been edited"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Works is a waste of money compared to getting open office for free. The only package better than the free Open Office is MS Office 2007, anything less than that is just uneconomical."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

So far people posting on this forum have been caught out paying for Google Earth and Flash Player with this misleading company. That's the danger of googling and then simply clicking on a sponsored link instead of the proper search results."She is quite the oddball. I know, I said sorry 'cause I really am. I've also beat myself with birch switches, but that's just me:Dsuperscaper wrote: »So far people posting on this forum have been caught out paying for Google Earth and Flash Player with this misleading company. Don't worry I realise you were sincere and I had to make my warning clear before the OP may have fallen for it.
It was more a general warning to others out there as people have already ended up paying money for freeware because they didn't know otherwise. You're hardly to blame that these scam merchants actually rely on people not looking closely enough and they deliberatey appear at the "top of the search results" by being a sponsored link rather than an actual result. Try looking for other freeware you'll find almost identical sites in the sponsored links for that software doing the same thing. They're technically not breaking any law because they're charging for "support for the software" rather than the software itself. But for those who don't know much about computers it's not that obvious and they may think it's the actual software company's site."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
