I seem to have collected a large amount of Dove soap(don't ask why!!!)-could I use that to make washing powder?
check out Rhonda Jean's recipes in the link above - I'm sure she uses grated soap in something... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

I'm certainly no expert, but I'd think the moisturising cream in Dove wouldn't be too good for your fabrics! May cause a build up?0

That's what I was thinking noonoo! anyone got any ideas what to use it for? My mother has stockpiled it and now cannot use soap based products.......0

Just wondering if the home made detergent works ok at the lower temperatures? I do most of my washing at 30 C, on a quickwash, which takes half an hour or so. I've noticed though that when I'm handwashing using soap flakes (bought) they don't dissolve very well, and I'm a bit worried about having soap residues left on my clothes.
Any advice anyone? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Elsien, I'm currently using a recipe I found in a book called Green Cleaning - it's made of soap flakes, washing soda and borax, and I'm using a fabric conditioner of vinegar, bicarb and water - I do all my washing at 30 degrees and can't tell the difference between this and my old commercial laundry powder0
