Good move to be fair if you're going to be using the money soon anyway then might as well at least see it doesn't fall in value any more in the short term. Good luck with the house!0

i am going to cash in my maxi isa, putting it all into my online saver.
Why not use a better spread of lower risk funds that do offer better potential? At least that way you dont lose the tax free status.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). well i've had to hold off on doing anything drastic, the fund price as dropped rapidly and i'd make a pretty nasty loss if i jumped now. i'd take just £12,980 of my 14k.
i'm going to have to wait it out, i have 7 months before i may need this so i'll wait and hope for the best.
i'd settle for 13.5k at any point during that period, and get the hell out !:grouphug:

Hi,
Well after waiting a few weeks I have just cashed in my S&S ISA.
Before anyone overreacts, I stress again that this is going to be used later this year so moving it elsewhere was just not safe enough. My priority was damage limitation in the short term.
I made a £500 loss, and to be honest don't think any of amount of waiting would have made much of that up this year at least. 3 weeks ago I stood at a £1000 loss.
So, £3,600 of it is due for this years cash isa. The rest plus £6,000 due out of my 8% saver is going to find its way to an online saver for safe keeping.
Issue I have is, I bank with Lloyds, HSBC (not by choice..!), and Egg (from when they had a good saver rate). I really am not keen on opening an account with another bank, for security reasons and confusion mainly.
So I am either going to choose my best options from those 3 (the egg 6.05% isa i think...), or close one down completely and open another account elsewhere.
The online saver rates at none of these are that great. But seeing as I am only going to have it in there for 6 months its not the end of the world.:grouphug:
