cheap texts to UK from Spain???

Hi everyone
going to spain soon and want to keep in touch with people back in the UK via texts. I'm leaving my Tmobile Samsung phone here but have an old phone not locked to any network that i want to take.
There are alot of threads on here about calls from abroad but not much on texting back to the UK???
Can anyone suggest some really cheap deals/ideas for texting back to the UK whilst i'm overseas?
