Digital camera wanted

All compacts tend to suffer in low light due to the small sensors and the noise reduction software they use. Panasonic seem to be slightly worse than most but on the other hand they do ten to have good lenses. I must admit I'm considering a TZ3 for the zoom but the low light performance is a concern. Panasonic have recently announced the TZ4 and TZ5 so it may be worth waiting a while as they may be better, also it may bring the price of the TZ3 down.

I bought the Panasonic Lumix TZ2 (10 X optical Zoom ) from Play.Com in the sale 2 days ago for £119.00 , free delivery, + used quidco so got 4 % off too. RRP is around £270 so a really good deal. Gets good reviews, but not had chance to check it out yet. May be worth considering for you.

If you can wait a while the Fujifilm F100fd looks pretty good. It' sexpected to be around the £200 mark and has a 5x Optical zoom. It's the latest in a line of Fujifilm cameras that started with the F30 which have always been well regarded for their low light perfomance.

Obviously try and find some reviews before buying though.
