    Hi all,
Oh and sorry to say it, but i think the s &g righteous butter is foul:o I was going to buy a mini of it to test it out but thought id check to see if they were sealed first, they werent so i tested a bit:o I was quite dissapointed really, thought it'd be really thick and sumptous and smelling divine but it was just like any other body lotion ive tried and the smell made me gag:o

I personally prefer the Santuary one. It is really thick but i find it works wonders on my elbow. For some reason i have one very dry elbow.

    Something for everyone!
I came across this while searching for something http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=800479&highlight=make-up+wanted

Have you had a dodgy customer Orlaith?
Or have i missed a post AGAIN!!!!

    Are you psychic? lol.

Yeah I had a really dodgy customer on Friday. One of my first customers actually. Wanted to pay with points when she hadn't enough. So I pointed out that to make things easier for herself it's best to ask to pay in points at the start. She took this as me insulting her and called me rude, unhelpful etc (even though I was in the process of putting through her seperate transactions). She was even pulling sarcastic faces at me, and as I said "thanks very much" while giving her change she snapped the money from me.
She then phoned up in the afternoon to complain saying lies like I refused to put her shopping through on points and shouted and argued with her and that she will never shop at Boots because of me.
Luckily the manager she spoke to knows me even though she isn't my manager, and she knew that I would never treat a customer like that. I always have great feedback on the survey and I even served the managers mum without knowing who she was and she praised my service so much I got a gift.
What has really annoyed me is what if the person who took the call believed the customer? I could have been in so much trouble and it was all lies.

The main point of my question is that I was wondering if you all would get offended if someone said
"sorry you don't have enough points to pay but I can void things out to do two seperate transactions if you like?
Oh and just to make everything quicker for yourself in future you need to ask to pay in points at the start of the sale as you can only pay for items worth less than you have on your ad card and it means it's easier for you to pay that way" *smile at customer*

Wow that was a big long rant, sorry for boring you all lol.

No Orlaith, I would not be offended, I would be pleased that you had made the suggestion. :happyhear This sounds like a customer who was angry with someone, anyone, and you were the one she took it out on.

Rudness can be a two way street, and I know from experience how difficult it is to be faced with this kind of behaviour, whilst trying to keep objective and polite. The hardest to be is being lied about to your employers though.

You were fortunate that you have employers who take your past record into consideration when assessing her complaint. Sadly they are not all that understanding. I hope that people like this are a minority and dont worry about sounding off here, thats our job to listen.

You listen to all the rants, big and small on here.Take care.:T :T :T Also well done for retaining your dignity, which is more than the customer did.:silenced: :naughty:

Random question...is it safe to assume that everyone here knows that to pay with points (when you don't have enough to cover all your shopping) it's easier to point this out at the start of the sale before all your shopping is rung in?

Probably because I just woke up, but I don't understand what this means. Do you mean to tell them how many points you have to spend before they start ringing things up, so they can stop if it's about to go over?

Edit: I read down and saw the longer post that explains it. My drowsy mind understands now. :)

Don't let 'em get you down Orlaith :)

If Boots had the foresight to display the policy regarding paying with points, there'd always be *the one* that would complain that the sign wasn't big enough  ;)

When I was returning an online order recently, it was a bit more complicated than a staright swap. Whilst the manageress was trying to sort it out for me, a customer appeared, and when she was told (politely) that there might be a delay, complained, and not quietly. She then not only gave the manageress the filthiest of looks, but gave me one too ...! :rotfl:

It gave me a better insight of just what some SA's have to put up with.

    Take care :)

I think the only time I was in doubt about whether my points would cover my items (75% off sale) I started off by asking the SA to check my points total then stop ringing the transaction through just before we got there. SA was more than happy to do this, I paid for a couple of odd items in cash at the end and everyone was happy. There was a big queue so I didn't want to hold anyone up unnecessarily.

Often I don't say though that I want to pay with points till the end of the transaction because I'm watching for GWP or BOGOFs going through. Sometimes this can affect how I decide to pay. But I'm always pretty certain how many points I have anyway on my card when I do this, so no arguements.

Anyway, I'd rather just stump up the cash than start being rude to SAs over a mistake I'd made. Being rude to SA's about something that is not their fault and when they're doing their best to be polite and helpful is crass and the last resort of the pigging ignorant, tbh.
    Val.
