...after two weeks off, I've been back to Boots today. Didn't actually need anything, but there you go.....

Was hoping to get a refund on the Time Delay Night serum - I bought some of this hoping it would be like P&P serum, but it made my skin really tight and dry, even with moisturiser on top. The Time Delay stuff all has a money back guarantee on the box which says if you don't like it, you can have your money back. Trouble is, I don't have my receipt any more. The SA said I could have an exchange, but the Time Delay stuff is now all on offer and the serum is only £6:50 - it was £10 when I bought it - so she advised me to wait until the price reduction promotion finished and bring it back again then. Not very happy, but there you go....

However, Gloucester had a few of the Lola Rose black MF GWP boxes and I managed to get one free, so that has cheered me up considerably!! There were two left on the MF stand when I left, fellow Gloucester Bootsers...

The MF stand had loads of another GWP - I think from way back last summer - the same cosmetics bag in either bright pink or yellow with various bits inside(can't remember, sorry - was going to try to get one, but then saw the black box and decided to get that one as I knew it would work). Does anyone know if the yellow/pink bag goes through free? It's a very old GWP so I think it might? There were dozens and dozens of them on the stand in Gloucs - anyone brave enough to have a go and report back??;)

Use my till split on the teeny John Frieda frizz ease serum, but only spent £4something in my actual shop so didn't manage to get another one - poor planning, I blame being out of practice after 2 weeks off!:rotfl:
  • how are people getting the gwps free? what did i miss?

I now have enough shampoo to last for years with my existing stash of full size and minis. Just as well I have lots of thick hair, as DH has none. :p

On my way from little Boots to big boots, I took a short cut through M&S and they were just putting out a massive amount of sale items. I picked up a jacket (£39.50) & a pair of jeans (£29.50) for £3.00 each. I was delighted and it made my day. What is even better, they fitted.:rotfl: :rotfl:
So a good money saving sunday all around for me.:T :T

Oooh, how cruel (your comment about DH) - made me laugh tho'!!

Well done on your M&S shop, too - fantastic bargains - I didn't even go into M&S when I was shopping this afternoon - perhaps I need to go back tomorrow.....;)
  • For all of you expert money savers do boots tend to do a sale on the easter stock like they did with valentines and mothers day and whens the best time to go in store and splurge???

If you have enough stuff in your basket, the Lola Rose MF GWP goes through free. The till doesn't beep and the till receipt just says something like "MF Xmas 2007 0.00" so if you don't have an eagle eyed SA you might get one free. If challenged, I was going to say I thought it was a gift set to buy. HTH

edited; I have just tried the Giled Ruby nail varnish ,(nailfinity) in the MF GWP black box and it is poss the best nail varnish I have tried you can tell it's quality. So if anyone wants to get a GWP the nail polish is £5.50 I think.

That probably explains why I couldn't get a hatbox gwp. I asked the MF sales assistant if I could have a hatbox if I bought the products, as I like all hatboxes :) I got the usual strange look lol, and I can't remember what she said right now, but basically the message was that when one promotion starts, the others gwp are cleared away - probably to that famous 'sent back' place ;)

But what there was, and in abundance, was the nail varnish you mentioned above - for £1 ...! So it looks like they might have dismantled the hatboxes and stuck whatever was worth selling, in the clearance section
