I saw an advert on T.V. for their price comparison site. Has it got anything to do with that?.

My local butcher is a good price. I bought an entire leg of lamb for £20, and thats like 7kg of lamb! I think thats a good price as in tesco just for 1KG of lamb your lookin at £4, so i think i got the better deal. Plus as i go in there quite alot, he now lets me sample products before he puts them on sale, yesterday i got 12 chicken and sage sausages, which i have to say went down rather well! :) long live the local butcher! :D

Our local farm shop is expensive for the meat but the one at wallington hall (national trust) does lovely chicken breasts that are not too expensive and often it has good offers on

Im afraid I do get the cheap cooked meals more often than I should

There was a similar thread created a few months ago relating to Tesco.

We've stopped doing our main shop there as most of the items we used to buy have increased in price extortionately.

They reeled us in, dropped prices, forced other retailers to close - now this is payback!

I noticed this yesterday. I defected to Morrisons last year and was very happy with them, but with Dad being ill I didnt really have the time for a trek to my nearest store.

After yesterday though I'll make the time, back to Morrisons next week!

Dont get me wrong, I'm well aware of how and why the price of foodstuffs have risen, but Tesco seems to have risen more than the other major supermarkets.
  • and suggests Price fixing! like their Iams 3kg adult it is sold at below RRP but all major supermarkets are wwithin about 10p difference!
