network unlock, samsung a800

Hello Guys,

Is it possible for a samsung a800 on the virgin network to be unlocked so that a O2 sim can be used?

and if the answere to the above is 'yes it is really simple' could you let me know how to do it, as i'm pretty usless at this kind of stuff :-(

The simplest way with Virgin is to phone for the unlock code. If you have used more than £30 credit recently they will send you the code for free.

Alternatively look in the thread here for Unlocking Codes for phones other than Nokias!

you can do it for free youself if you can borrow a samsung t100 cable (the one that came with samung t100s when they were sold) the s/w is available on the net

I don't think there is anywhere on the phone to put a t100 cable, the phone seems to require a 13 digit unlock code i have 8 attempts to get it, is there a calculation program like nokia for these numbers?

There is no simple calculator program for the A800, you need a data cable and software.

The A800 can be quite picky about datacables, unfortunately I haven't got my cable any more.

Alternatively go down your local independant mobile store / market stall they'll probably do it for £5

the cable goes into the bottom same as the charger, some copy t100 cables dont work which is why its best to borrow a gen t100 cable

few mths ago i rang virgin and they in turn contacted samsung 2 get the code.took abt a week poss longer ( memory's rubbish) but they emailed it to me.
